This seating area doesn’t appeal to me.

I don’t like the pillows with “X” on them or the black walls behind the shelves. I realize people need places to store & display items, but I don’t care for really high shelves above furniture. Not crazy about the furnishings or accessories either. The sofa looks dingy & dirty to me. I don’t like the rug either. I guess there’s not much at all I like about this space. Just not my style.

Pillows with X looks like " Don't sit here "  danger of falling objects  off top shelf in case of earthquake

@wilma    I agree with everything you said...Not sure which is worse... the X pillows or the rug.  Not my style either.  I need color in my decor.

Only positive thing I can say about this room is the fact that the loveseat is slip-covered.

A must if you have pets that get up on your furniture.

Otherwise, yuck.

@wilma , I agree with you 100%. It all looks a little too dark and dingy to me, and those pillows are awful. I also do not like the small little lamps on the wall either, not very helpful for reading......The room needs a fresh makeover, with bright and airy!

Those pillows seem out of place.  The X graphic is too strong and contemporary for this bland, traditional room.

I actually like it a lot...."X" pillows and all.  I'm not so fond of the rug and would change that out and get rid of at least half of the bookshelves as they just look like clutter and it makes me claustrophobic just looking at them.

I think this would be a cute space if you replaced the sofa, rug, and those awful pillows.

It's the decor that's unappealing.

I like the art piece behind the loveseat.  It does look nice on the black wall.  The rest, NOPE.
