Re: Would you prefer this or is it too cold, not inviting?

[ Edited ]

@Nonametoday  I like this room. I'd make what I'd consider to be an improvement with a more substantial rug, probably of the oriental ilk and would prefer a different paint color. That large window is spectacular. Would have to see the artwork in more detail and would like to play with furniture arrangements. Still, I think it has appeal.

@Nonametoday    we don't go for any furniture that doesn't look comfortable like that chair or the couch nearest it

Other than that, I could live with the rest of the furnishings.

@OKPrincess I kept looking at that spot and couldn't figure out if it was a huge mirror or an opening into another room!

@haddon9   I think it's a huge mirror because you can see the windows and lamp etc.

@OKPrincess That's what I thought as well but I also thought that maybe there was another room next to the living room with a similar window.

Plus, what confused me is the opening.  It could be the frame of a mirror but it also looks like the opening on the other end of the wall....same molding.....oh well!  LOL!

That's not a large wall mirror.  It's the entrance to another room. @OKPrincess

I love the feel of the room space and the wall color (so pretty), but I would redecorate it completely.

Seems way too busy for me, but I love the light coming through the window.

It's bright and cheery.  I would get rid of some of the wall pictures - especially the one hanging on the drapes.

I'd get rid of the rataan coffee table and replace it with one that matches the other coffee table.

It is pretty but it is showroom pretty.  Pretty as a picture and that is just like what it is -- ready for picture taking.  I don't want a room that feels this formal and where I would feel uncomfortable sitting or trying to put my feet up or relaxing with a book and drink, etc.  Not for me.

The space is fine but I would totally redecorate.

I don't see one item I would want to keep in this room.
