I rented one and never had any trouble with it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. When I had it removed, you couldn’t tell it was ever installed.

My stepfather has Parkinsons and now needs to use a chair lift in his home. It works beautifully for him.
I do not know the cost, as it was covered by his Veteran's insurance.

@2Kittys I think it is an excellent idea. Moving is a hassle. I am sure the chair lifts have a warranty. Get estimates from at least two companies, preferably three. I live in an apt. so I don't need one. I hope you can receive some input from someone else.
