@CrazyKittyLvr2   I agree...looks like a fire hazard...so close to the light fixtures.

I really like it!!!  Not the same boring dining room!!  The colors are beautiful - ceiling makes room appear bigger.

I would consider trying it. It's always easy to move it back if I didn't like it. My DR right now doesn't lend itself to this orientation though

What I like--the table at an angle, french doors, table setting, windows, crown molding, rug, chandelier.

Don't like--wall and ceiling color, wall hangings, table centerpieces, end chairs.

No, I wouldn't do that.  Well, to be honest, I might get the idea in my head and try it for a fleeting second, but then I'd straighten it out.

Wouldn't do it myself.

We have a small, square dining room, and I've had the oval table every which way, including diagonal.  It looks good, and kind of jaunty.

But I could be wrong, but isn't the chandelier in the pictured room not centered over the table?  It looks like it's a little too far to the right.  I think that's most of what's making this arrangement look "wrong".  Also, think if the table were oval, and therefore less hard -edged, it would look more serene in the angled, diagonal position.

They've got nothing else in the room. Gotta fill the space with Something so the table is It.
