We remodeled a family room last year and chose this type of carpet. Within 2 months the traffic areas looked beaten down and dull and the fibers even looked frayed. After months of persistance with where we purchased the carpet and the company which was Shaw the carpet is being replaced. My question is - has had really good results with frieze carpet? What I had was a fatter twist and pretty soft. I now have to chose something else. There are other types of frieze that feel coarser and a smaller twist. I love the look but am really afraid of a similar outcome. My husband says chose something else. I know I should -just looking for some more opinions. This is a pretty high traffic room, we have 2 kids, no animals and we are pretty careful about taking our shoes off when we come in the door.
