White sofas

I wish I could have anything white in my home. I am not a slob. I do have 3 dogs and I don't care for the upholstered look on sofas, for me they look too messy. I would be the first one to accidently spill coffee or wine on one, just because I would be so worried that I would. I have a friend that has all white furniture and just basic brown and grey accessories. For me it is too sterile but she loves it. I don't eat at her house and I only drink water.

She has an all white rug in her living room as well, and she said it is so easy to clean because she can see the dirt and clean it right away. While that is true, I don't want to spend my life cleaning. I vacuum 3 times a week and mop my floors that much as well. But only the great room and kichen and laundry room. The bedrooms and bathrooms I do once a week. Especially now since I am by myself.

If you have a white sofa do you like it and why. Is it work for you? And do you have rules for family and friends?
