There are many things I love about this room. I would put wood blind/shades on the windows and introduce another bright color here and there, yellow comes to mind.

Love the beams, built-ins, and the fireplace, but it's waaaaay too white for me too.

I'd add several splashes of color for sure.

I would love to have this room if I didn't have boys, a husband, cats, or dogs. I can't even keep a white dish towel clean for more than an hour at my house! LOL!!!

The room itself is appealing and with a change of furnishings and color added, it would be nice.  I do love the built in shelves and ceiling but the room needs color!

It's a beautiful room. As soon as I saw it I wondered if it was on the water.

Drapes would soften it and add color ...  I LOVE pretty fabric so that would solve the problem for me.  I would use something with a little color or pattern ...  nothing drastic ...

This brought back some memories.

When my oldest daughter was about to enter high school, my husband decided he wanted to move.

I was perfectly happy where we lived.  But to keep the peace, I met with a realtor.

She took me to a place where the houses were huge ( like 3 and 4 car garages).

She showed me a house where everything was white, I mean..really white.  It didn't look like anyone had ever lived in this house.

The furniture was white leather.  The curtains were white.  It had lots of nooks and crannies.  Gave me the creeps.

Then she took me into a house where everything was circular.  I started feeling dizzy.

This was the house that had a button in the hallway.  It was just the two of us.  She'd walked ahead of me.

As soon as I saw it, I put my hand on it and said, "What's this for?"

She came flying up to me (yelling..she was yelling).."don't touch that"!

It was a button that went directly to the police....I guess in case there was a home invasion.

That was about the time I said, "Well, thanks for showing me around.  My husband will be contacting you."

There was no way I was going to live in a house where I'd always remember how it was filled with white furniture.

The house with that emergency button would have been bumped into on a regular basis.  Who in their right mind would want to live in a house where you'd worry that it had a button to keep you safe?

Needless to say, we didn't move.  I liked where I live(d) just fine.

When my husband died suddenly.  I paid off my house.

But my mind goes to those expensive houses.  My girls are living their best life in Florida, Colorado and northern Virginia.

Had we moved into one of those, I'd have to sell it (I call them albatrosses).

I'm very happy here...with all of our memories.

It's interesting the choices we make as we go through life.

Do you ever feel like there's a little angel on your shoulder telling...no...steering you which way to turn?

Anyway, thanks for the memory trigger down memory lane.

Too much white for me!  The white couches would be a nightmare to keep clean also!  The white walls and ceiling I could handle but give me some color on the couches and accessories!
