Silver.
Sophisticated and timeless.

I would use gold with cream because they just seem to go together. I use white with silver for the same reason. Our "good" china has a platinum edge so most of my fancy linens are white or a pale green similar to the other colors in the china. I like both looks but in our house we are silver based... Now for casual fall, I use earth tones and brass accents.

Gold with cream.
Silver with white.
But no problem, either will be beautiful.

I think you could go either way. If I was using my fine china I'd use silver because they are white with silver trim. But, if I was using my late MIL's fine china I'd use gold because these dishes have gold accents.
Having said that, I hear that gold has become the hottest trend. Everything always seems to come and go around again in popularity. At this point I think it's just a personal preference.

Gold has always been my choice. I believe it is a better compliment to most base colors. For the most part, it comes down to a matter of preference.

I am a crème and gold gal for my formal china and flatware......but, my everyday dinnerware is white with stainless flatware. It's truly all about what you prefer.

Are you a silver or a gold person?
I have always been a gold person, but lately I've been loving the look of silver as well. I think I could easily have sets of both so I can get a different look at different times.
