This is my story, too. We all find we have more fun & a more relaxing time when no one has to cook & clean.

I think it is always going to be easier to entertain at one's home when the weather is warm. You can grill & eat outside but even inside you don't need to worry about storing heavy coats, etc.

I find entertaining in fall/ winter easier. I enjoy cooking when it's cool and don't mind cleaning then. Too hot in the summer!

I don't know if it's easier, per se, but I LOVE entertaining in the fall and winter months and I tend to have more get-togethers (and family birthdays/holidays/etc) in those months. Although I love grilling, I don't feel that we have the bet outdoor set up for a larger party. And frankly, I love grilling when it's just my DH and kids. Sounds backwards, I know.

I would have to say summer cookouts. We have a beautiful pool with three tables with umbrellas and an awning on our deck. Lots of room for everyone and I can make some of the side dishes ahead of time. I also use a good quality paper plate and clean up is a breeze. We also have outdoor Bose speakers and the music is always going. The clean up after a winter holiday is so much work. I just love Summer time.

I think when we had a big house with a deck and big yard and the gazebo; inside entertaining was much easier than entertaining outdoors. Now we are in a condo with good sized balcony, so it's all the same. Much easier that the old days because we can't invite as many people.

Down here, most of our company are folks from up north wanting to escape winter for a bit. Summer makes more demands for our attention outside as things grow so fast.
