Personally, I'd get rid of it... It's a reasonably attractive room even if it could use some color, and, to me, the hand chair doesn't add a thing... It's like somebody's trying just a bit too hard to be avant-garde.

That "hand" has got to go!
Otherwise, I like the room, except it needs some pops of colors - maybe have the chair & ottoman a compatible color.

I understand the impulse to "lift" the room out of the trite or expected, with maybe one quirky piece- but I personally loathe these 'hand' chairs which a certain type of designer loves to inject into their interiors...
Agree with @stevieb , it smacks of trying too hard, esp. if the rest of the room exhibits a more conventional sensibility. Not to mention, it's not even an appealing hand!
I actually like the other "egg" chair in gray (can't remember if that's the right name), even though I'd choose it in another color. To me, it gives the slightly unexpected twist, since it is 'midcentury' in mood. Then for a corresponding chair on the other side of the hearth, instead of that hand, I'd go for either an out-and-out antique, like maybe a worn Windsor chair with burnished old wood, or in the other direction, a modern slipper chair in a lush color like faint blush pink or something...

This reminds me the chair in front of Stupidiotic in Las Vegas

I think it works. I think I'd stack books on it or something.

Have some fun people over and they can all talk to the hand. LOL If that's a "real" room as opposed to a "staged" one for a photo shoot I bet there is a funny story as to why the hand chair is there and I for one would like to hear it.
Maybe it's solid gold or

Gotta hand it to you for finding this. Not for me.

That was exactly my first reaction! Although I might add a bit more color to the room, that ugly chair wouldn't be it.
A beautiful classic room, ruined by that!

I think the hand chair in this room is the five finger equivalent of the Billy Bass, when two people move in together and say, where in the room should we put this?

That is crazy. Who would expect anyone to sit in that thing. Not in my house.
