Well.... We actually took down our tree and our few other decorations last night. Yes, on the 25th.
Normally we do it on the 26th, but my family left late yesterday afternoon and I'm so tired and I thought "wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up in the morning and have it all done" and so, we took everything down last night.
I love Christmas, but when it's over I want my house back to normal.

@HF wrote:I switch the Christmas decorations to winter decorations so its not a huge project. Usually right after new years. I keep the white lights on the mantle up until spring and just change the Christmas garland to pinecones. Santa goes away and snowmen take his place.
Thats what I do too......I like the warm glow of the lights during the cold Jan/Feb months.....I have snowmen around ere and there too....

In past years I put up a lot of decorations and I had a large tree.....so I would take everything down shortly after Christmas...
Now my tree is a Santas Best...its the five foot one...and its adorable...not in the way at all...I don't have any other Christmas decorations up....
Everyday when I get up I select a different color for the tree and it remains lit till I go to bed....I will miss that...so I am not sure when I will take it down...

Dec 26. Can't stand having them waiting to be taken down. Will have to wait this year though since we are out of town.

January 1 or 2.

It varies depending on what else is happening, but never before New Year's Day, and no later than about the 15th of January.
I have switched a number of things over to more 'winter' theme, so not everything will come down at the same time this year, but Christmas will come down first, and the more 'winter' items may be left till the end of February.

I slowly started taking down today. The tree will be down in a few days. I work in the schools and will also have the next week off. I want a week of vaca that is holiday free and relaxing. It's been up since Thanksgiving. Had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends, ready for the New Year! I did go out to Target this am after my college daughter and I went to breakfast. We were there at nine and it was already picked over. I was able to get bags and boxes over half off, and that is what I really wanted for next year. I try to never by holiday wrappings at full price.

Done as of two hours ago. Yes! Packed up my Christmas dinnerware and put away, changed out the colors of my Fiestaware and put them in the cabinet. Then, packed up 3 tubs of decorations and put away. I cannot still believe I only have three tubs-ful now! Cleaning of dusting, vacuuming, and mopping will be done tomorrow when the sun is out and I can see. It's too cold, windy, and snowy outside to venture anywhere today or tomorrow, so this was the best time and not waste a warmer day.

I take mine down the weekend following New Years day.
