Re: What to Do with an Extra Room

I would turn it into storage for my Lock n Locks.  Also extra cookware, out of season clothing.  We built a small retirement home thinking I would cut down.  Ha.  Hasn't happened.

Re: What to Do with an Extra Room

For me, what to do with it would totally depend on where the room was located, and how much in view it was from other areas of the house.

For example, my son's room is at the top of the steps in our split level home, and easily seen from the living room. Same for the guest room, only you can't see as much of the room.

Because of that, both rooms must be very attractive, neat, and appealing. I couldn't stand to walk through the living room, (or have guest there) and be able to see those rooms used for storage or as oversized walk in closets. And I'm not the kind to simply shut the door. I like open doors, as when they are closed, every thing seems dark and enclosed.

So I guess the point of my post is to consider where the room is located, who will see it (even if it is only you). Will you be happy walking past the room and having it look like a closet or a storage unit?
