What's your housekeeping schedule?

Do you have one, or do you just clean things when they look like they need to be cleaned?

I'd like to establish a schedule because I can no longer tackle the entire house on one day.

I used to have a schedule when we lived in a house.  Now we're in a condo and I clean whenever the spirit moves me--LOL!!!

Re: What's your housekeeping schedule?

Sorry can't help you.  When we moved to a much bigger house 8 years ago so that my father could move in with us, I decided to hire housecleaning help as I knew I couldn't keep up with it myself.  I cleaned my father's portion of the house as he did not want strangers in his part but the cleaning company did the rest.

When my father passed the cleaning company took over the whole house.  DH started his own bussiness in December 2016 and was working from home while I continued to work outside the home.  He took over washing the sheets and towels as well as most of the cooking.  I help out by emptying the dishwasher and cleaning up the kitchen but most of the time he does it.

I have it pretty easy.

Re: What's your housekeeping schedule?

I have someone clean my house. I may not take elaborate vacations, or, in recent years, any vacations, but I am happy to spend the money on that. Beyond thrilled to spend the money on that.

And my house is always in ready for company shape.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

[ Edited ]

I clean my kitchen and bathrooms daily.

I dust and swiffer floors on Sunday and Thursday.

I change the air filter to the heating/air system on the 1st day of the month and dust all ceiling fans that day as well.

I mop on Friday.

Clean in between as needed.

@RedTop

Wow! You are my idol!  I change the filters twice a year - guess I should rethink that ...

Re: What's your housekeeping schedule?

As you noticed, I don't have things listed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, as those are designated appt days for my husband.  My designated appt days are one Wednesday afternoon a month, Thursday and Friday.

My monthly calendar is unreal!

Schedule? Being retired and not having company?  No.  I don't.

Re: What's your housekeeping schedule?

Every  year, I try to finish all my major housework before the hot summer months.  I ease up on my schedule in July and August.  I don't mind vacuuming, but find dusting sooo boring!
