We recently remodeled our kitchen. Now that it's all brand new and I have much more space, I'm hesitate to make my new counter cluttered, etc. Besides my Keurig, Kitchenaid mixer, canister of cooking utensils and set of knives, what else do you keep on your counter? Anything non-kitchen related like photos, cookbooks, etc? I'd love to hear ideas.

I also remodeled my kitchen this summer, and keep the countertops as clear as possible. The only things visible are the coffeemaker, toaster, knife block, and the lazy Susan that belonged to my husband's mother.

I have a canister set, my knife block, a cookie jar that holds my k-cups, my iCoffee maker, and a pitcher with kitchen utensils in it. Oh, and a toaster.

I have decent counter area in my home here, including and island. Plenty of space on the counters for coffee makers, paper towel holder, toaster, and some pasta containers. The island has my knife block, but sadly ends up as a temporary space for mail, papers, and such.
I have made some changes since these pictures were taken, but it shows the basics of my space.

I have a digital photo frame that my sister emails pictures of my adorable nieces to. I love it! Also my Keurig and Vitamix, and a bowl of fruit. My kitchen is tiny. Not much counter space.

I have a very large kitchen and a ton of counter space so Coffee maker and toaster, cookie jar on one counter, second counter has the drainboard and bread box and kitchen aide mixer, then turn the corner and there is a knife block and cutting boards, go past the stove and a third counter has my canister set and a glass trivet to put hot pots on. On any given day either the crockpot or electric frying pan may also be out. Also , on the kitchen table is a tray where we have things like salt & pepper, napkin holder, our pill boxes and a container of honey.

I have a pretty good sized kitchen with a lot of counter space. I don't like a lot of appliances, clutter, etc. For kitchen type items I have my Kitchenaid stand mixer, 3 canisters, Keurig, and crock with utensils in it on the counter. Toaster, blender, etc all always put away. But I do like to decorate my kitchen with items....seasonal & non seasonal. I have a small pumpkin, autumn candle, my love birds (topper on my wedding cake) & 2 of those little wooden box type quote signs (including 'I love you more than cupcakes'). My favorite part though is I have 9 ft ceilings & have a 2 foot space above my cabinets, where i have the colored glass vases, etc I collect so they are visible but I still have a clean look to my kitchen.
