I like the vibe, but I'm bugged by the fact that there's a hot mess on the night table.  I mean, if you're just going to clutter the thing up with nonsense, why bother having the table at all? Isn't the point of it to hold your book/tablet/glasses, glass of water?  There's no room for anything on there.

One thing I'm enjoying seeing is in the past few years, design photos have included split leaf philodendrons and other large-leaved plants as accents in vases.  I am liking that look.

My bedroom has been predominately shades of cream for years. I love it, but it’s not practical for the rest of the house.

An aunt had basically an all white house (carpets, chairs, sofa included). Even the bathroom was in white carpet. No one was allowed to read a newspaper, eat or drink outside the kitchen. Gentlemen were not allowed to “stand” in the bathroom. Of course shoes were banned. A pet never passed the threshold. I don’t know how her husband and son tolerated this situation. It was a prison. She was gracious as a guest in my home but I dreaded visits to hers for fear of leaving a mark.

Excellent points.  I was just wondering, after looking at some of these retail offerings, why they forget to offer pet-friendly and/or family-friendly furnishings?  They don't have to be brown and ugly, just have a little interest, or even a dog bed or two in the room.  Maybe even a cat-scratching post!   Cat HappyCat Very Happy
