This would have been my late MIL's dream home - she always said she wanted a kitchen with a library attached.

{She was close -she had 5 6-ft. bookcases in her great room, 2 or 3 more in her dining room, all cookbooks), 2 more in a spare bedroom, and I don't know how many cartons in the basement.)

At least one is a college professor who teaches architecture.  They are well read, art lovers and travel a lot.  They likely have one or two other homes somewhere in Europe.  They likely have inherited wealth and are involved in community activities. 

OR one could be an author, but fits the pattern above.

They love books, they love open air and tranquility and calm spaces.  They love simplicity and comfort??

 Irrespective of the furnishings and artwork, it reminds me of a cabin in Northern Minnesota or Wisconsin. The owners saved for many years to first purchase the land (lakeshore property) and then spent several more years (weekends only where they lived in an old RV on the site) building this home themselves. When it was finally inhabitable it occurred to them they should have created a much more functional kitchen with seating for more than two!

They are currently booking their next African Safari Adventure, they are adding to their solar panels, and their herb and vegetable garden is perfect. They are vegetarians for sure.
