This large painting stands out as rather bizarre...only the owner can tell us if there is a meaning/symbolism since it is placed in a major location in this room...  On the other hand, perhaps there is no symbolism just a novel artist's depiction of this owner/family.

If the owner isn't the artist, then I'd say they both entertain the ability to cut through the clutter and hone in on the very heart, the nature of a person.

  My interpretation:

This is a depiction of a limited family tree. Only a couple of generations, but complete with dead former partner and the one child from that union, and a black sheep uncle.

  Not sure about this part:

The fox, known as a silent watcher, has a dominant position but has been rendered sightless

by the redwing blackbird, who perches on it's head. Redwings are fearless, known to drive off much bigger creatures.

Don't see any bats, @Foxxee .
