What Do You Use For Bedding On The Top?

IMG_0516.jpegI don't use a blanket on the bed only a throw at night. No flannel sheets either. All to hot. I'm in Arizona so don't need anything heavy. I used to use a quilt from The Company Store but over time the cats put holes in it so one day I was at Costco and saw these oversized blankets. I think they are about 100 x 100 inches or so and I've been using them. Easy to wash. They have some on Amazon. They look nice, easy to change out for a different look. And if they wear out I'm only out around $25. So far so good.

I use just a  comforter in the winter.  However, I do put a half- folded dog throw on the other side for my  beagle  Well, he sheds lol

I have a comforter with matching shams but not a bed skirt.  I dont use the pillows that have the shams.  They are only decorative.

I don't care for bedspreads.  I haven't used one in years.

For summer I have a lightweight quilt and for winter I use a down blanket. Last year I tried an inexpensive duvet cover with the blanket and it was very challenging to get the blanket into the cover.

I even saw an instruction video on how to get  a blanket into a duvet cover easily but it didn't look easy to me...I gave it up ....glad I didn't spend a lot on it!

I also add one of the Dennis Basso fur throws at the end of the bed in case I want a little extra warmth.

I also gave up the bed skirt which to me is a dust collector when we got a new mattress & frame.  I's a wooden frame unlike my previous older metal frame.  I keep some decorative storage boxes that coordinate with my bedding & the room so it doesn't look bad if you can see them but my blanket does hang down over the sides pretty far.

I use a decorative (print) comforter over a down blanket for warmth.  I'm over bed skirts and shams.   They're just too much trouble.

Comforter, solid color, no skirt--but I do cover the box spring with a fitted sheet in a coordinating color. I have 2 king-size shams that match the comforter, and 2 standard shams that have a Jacobean-type print on a red background to add some color (comforter & large shams are taupe).

I have a faux-leopard throw that I toss a corner of over the footboard, and drape the rest partly over the cedar chest at the foot of the bed.

@Carmie.  I must confess,  I've never even seen a 100% linen sheet.  You. Must spend your spare time ironing.

@Kachina624 The linen sheets aren't that bad out of the dryer.  The good ones are wonderful in the summer.  We have them and use a light weight quilt on top in warm weather.  Better than those "plastic" Woman Very Happy sheets!

100% cotton lightweight quilt.  It comes with two matching pillow shams.  No blankets because I get too hot.  Just a sheet and this lightweight quilt.
