I've been watching Martha Bakes on PBS. It's informative. She's well-spoken and calm and a pleasure to watch.
Watching her reminds me of how much I loved her show when I was a young wife and mother. She inspired me to pay attention to the details in my home - the way things look and feel matters. Details count and not just when entertaining guests, but every ordinary day of our lives. I think I was forever changed by her lifestyle example. She fell from grace when she was sent to prison and I don't think her reputation ever recovered. Still, I owe a lot to Martha and I still enjoy watching her.
Do you have memories of the Martha Stewart Living show from the "old days"? What things have you learned from her?

I'm a fan. Used to get the magazine. I still catch some of her cooking shows and try out a few recipes now and then.

That would be a No. I do not dislike her but she is way too uptight for my style.

Oh yes. She certainly brought a whole new meaning to home keeping and entertainment. I think she still has a large following. Powerful women can lose their empire, come back and rebuild it again.

When my children were toddlers (They're now in their mid-30's) we lived near NYC. Martha Stewart came to our neighborhood supermarket and give cooking classes in a classroom at the back of the store.

I wasn't a follower, but you have made me curious. I wonder if the old episodes are out there anywhere for viewing. I've watched a couple of her PBS baking shows and I do like her style of presentation.

I do admire her ability to come back from her time in jail.
That said, she's not my style.

I just don't like her. I never have. Something about her rubs me the wrong way.
I always thought she got a bum rap when she went to prison, and that many others have gotten away with more.
I do admire her building her empire and coming back from that setback. I respect what she has accomplished, just don't care for her on a personal level, I guess.

She's always been a little too monotone for me.

No I have never been a fan of Martha Stewart and what she represents, but her Chows were absolutely beautiful dogs! Martha's incarceration in the women's prison in Alderson, WV was definitely an interesting time. The stories I heard always depicted her as a model prisoner, and she seemed to make many new friends during her time here in WV.
