I would begin by cleaning the door.  There's rustic, then there's dirty.  

 

My own entry is small like this one, so I am sensitive about space, i.e., style vs function.   Making people stand sideways is not inviting.  

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

I wouldn't have that wallpaper, I prefer the walls be painted a soft color.  Other than that it is nice.

Oddly, as busy as it is, it made me smile and feel somewhat relaxed, like I could settle down inside with a cup of tea.

 

Maybe it just took me back to some country homes I used to visit as a child, when things were casual, homey and without pretense. In my mind, someone is in the kitchen making an apple pie.

It looks outdated to me, and not in a good way. I would have to update all of it.
