I'm usually a fan of simple/clean but I do like this combination! It looks very welcoming to me. Interesting old lock on the front door. At least, I think it is a lock. Not sure how it would work.

@stevieb I like the door, the bench and love the window. Not the pillows or anything else. The wallpaper is ghastly.

Very nice.  I'd remove the wallpaper to achieve a less cluttered look.  I'd also push back the bench; cannot imagine that tight space of a bench right at the door.

This entryway is very inviting.  The only thing I dislike is the glass panel on the door.  While this area isn't typically my style, I cannot deny its appeal.
