Exactly.....no deed to the house is given to you when you pay the bank off.... the state owns the house and the deed.  Pay your taxes or out in the street you go!

@SXMGirl   Congrats!!  We paid off our mortgage years ago, we (well me) kept the letter from the bank thanking us for being a customer.
