we have a gas dryer now. they dry faster and cost alot less to run than an electric dryer. and they last longer. 2 electric dryers we have had after a few years heating element starts to weaken and drying takes alot longer.

Just the broken one (washers). My GE dryer is 37 years old and going strong.

I have to have a matching set. I know it would bug me not to.
Right now, my set is still going and going. I think I have had them for over twenty years now ... definitely got my money's worth on this set! And, I am bet they sure don't make them like they used to either!
They look dated compared to some of the new machines - but, who really cares? - I don't - they do the job just fine!

Cameo girl, what brand washer/dryer do you own? How many loads of laundry you do in an average week? Do you wash heavy items, like quilts ands bedspread? I'd love to be able go go 20 years without replacing a washer or dryer. I only replace what is broken.
