Re: Warm Kitchen & Living Area

Very inviting.  Only thing I wouldn't use is the striped pillows.  Colors are nice, warm---not cold.  I like the gold walls and couch.

Pillars don't look dirty to me and I enlarged the pic.  They've definitely looked like they've been burned.  But that's what they're for.  (I can't stand the glass jars/cups that people use that show the black soot from burning.)

I had these colors for years so I changed to the grays and white.

I'll probably change again 😁

Oh my. I don't like much of anything about this one. I hate to say it because it's so often cited and, for me, it usually doesn't ring true, but this one really does strike me as dated. It also lacks much sense of style or originality.

I do like the white kitchens, but this is warm and inviting.  Frozen drinks on the coffee table and all...

This area isn't appealing at all to me.  I do not care for the colors, furniture and walls, I don't like the coffee table at all especially in black.  I also am not a fan of the open space look with kitchen and living room blending.  Not my taste.

Yes, it does look like the candles have been used. I’ve never been a fan of candles in decorating. I guess I dislike the “used & burned” look. I’m also fearful of fire hazards.

@wilma

This open room is very nice.  Love most of it.  I have to confess, I'm usually a lover of lighter colored woods, but most of the features here coordinate nicely.  As you said, the use of the colors & furnishings make it quite cozy.  The sofa materials looks to be durable & that chaise portion .. a nap made in heaven.

Of course, there's always a few exceptions.  While the coffe table matches, I don't care for the style.

Very pretty to me and similar to my house
Your home should be your sanctuary and make you feel relaxed, comfortable. One look won’t appeal to all. I personally don’t like grays and whites for my home. HGTV pushed this endlessly. It is cold and lifeless to me.
