Update.... I'm home from vacation and pretty much exhausted.  I thought vacations were supposed to be relaxing, but between packing, traveling and unpacking, I'm pooped.

 

That, combined with the fact that the temp here yesterday was 113° and the heat wave is continuing, makes me think that it's not a good time to paint my kitchen.

 

So, I've decided instead that I'd rethink the "feel" of the space and change out my decor items.  That should be almost as much fun and less expensive.

@house_cat  You are a wise woman.  Changing the decor will be less work and less expensive.  You can box up the current stuff and change it out, then swap back again when you want another change.  Large artwork can seem like you changed the paint and space.  Mirrors are good for small spaces along with light colors.  New curtains might also make a drastic change.
