Re: Walk in Tub and resale of homes

I haven't taken a tub bath since I was a child.

I would not want a walk in tub but want to convert one of my two bathtubs into a walk in shower. Stepping over the tub every day...not fun.

One of the things gaining in popularity is the wet room concept. Essentially, the whole bathroom is tiled, waterproof, and barrier-free. Floor drains remove the water and you just walk from the shower to the toilet to the sink. No shower walls, no glass doors, no step up or down to get into the shower. Everything is just one smooth, flat surface.

And every surface is wet.  I don't see that concept being popular for long.

My son had a house with this exact type of bathroom in the main bedroom.  It looked great.  Reality was another matter.  Yes @tansy, everything got wet. It was really, really impractical.
