All my microfiber cloths have a rough side and a smooth side.  That the nature of the material.  I didn't even know they make a special detergent for them.  I wonder why?

I've read on reputable sites to use a detergent free of dyes and colors, so I use All free and clear.

I purchased some small towels from The Rag Company.  They recommend the free and clear detergents, and wash separately from other towels.

I don't own enough of the cloths to wash separately. What load would I toss them in?

I never use fabric softener for any wash but I always have dryer balls. They seem to keep the clothes and towels soft. I use both the wool and the plastic ones. Lots of them Woman Very Happy

Re: Wahing your microfiber cloths

We use regular detergent, no fabric softner.  DD got a small hamper at Ikea and we use that strictly for kitchen towels and the microfiber cloths and drying mats.

We have a full load of kitchen stuff at least once a week.  I change towels everyday.  I go through the microfiber cloths like crazy.  We also keep 2 or 3 microfiber clothes in each car.

I have a serious kitchen towel/cloth issue, I have a jelly cabinet full of stuff.

I use the lowest setting on my washer and rinse twice. I have approximately 8 micro cloths, the small ones.
