Agreed, @nevergivesup ,  and @DREAMON ,  they're the perfect pair to manage this whole Faulkner legacy/home.  (I think I recall reading that the husband was once even an intern at the Faulkner Society, but don't quote me.)

Edited to add--  Just realized that my mention of some of the shop's security arrangements might not be good to put "out there", so have deleted that part.   Even though they mentioned it themselves in the article, I don't want to amplify it.   Sorry about the inconvenience!

@Oznell - Thank you for sharing this! I've walked by it before, and always wondered about it. I agree with everyone else- the young couple looks just perfect for protecting this legacy!  Smiley Happy

Sorry @Oznell, but I'm going to sort of undo your thoughtfulness just a bit because I wanted to comment on the deleted item. Let me just say in my defense if they put it out there in a national magazine and website, I sort of doubt any of the Q folks here will be a problem. Smiley Wink Still, I'll be discreet and simply say I think their version of living over the shop with a lovely dividing gateway is sort of neat. It says to me that the whole place is home to them, though I do understand those who might feel some trepidation. I can just imagine deciding to go downstairs before bed to select a book from the shop. How neat would that be! Besides, I'd bet they have a monster of a security system. Smiley Very Happy

Re: WILLIAM FAULKNER'S APARTMENT IN NEW ORLEANS

@Oznell WOW thanks for these pictures.  It's beautiful.

We used to be in NOLA in the Quarter and about a lot on business and pleasure in the 1980s and 90's, starting way back when the Jax brewery was an empty shell of a building.  Saw it grow so much during those decades, and tromped all over the place far and near!

I have beautiful wonderful memories, but am fine not visiting now.

@beach-mom  and  @Sooner  ,  and others who've been there--   the Quarter is so much fun to meander around in, agreed.   It's been years since I've been.   @beach-mom ,  if you ever happen to be there again on Pirate's Alley, and strolling by the shop, if you stop in, do let us know!

Let's see, I think @shoesnbags  (but I may have gotten your nic slightly wrong) is a New Orleanian.  If you've ever been in the bookstore, would love to hear.

Oh, so true, @stevieb ,  having that bookstore conveniently 'right at hand' would be a constant draw!

Re: WILLIAM FAULKNER'S APARTMENT IN NEW ORLEANS

Absolutely stunning !!!!  I love the elegance of he dining room, the chandeliers beautiful.  The sitting room so striking, everything is appealing.  Of course the fact it was Faulkner's apartment certainly makes it all even better!!!!  Just so lovely.
