Re: WHAT DID YOU BUY FROM VALERIE'S 8-22 MORNING SHOW?

I Lucymo , I checked out the " as is " page , and all the colors are still available . The savings is $14.00 off regular price ! Quite a savings . I'm just a little concerned about receiving something that has a major glass chip , etc. .....I don't mind items used as samples on the shows , etc. .......I wonder if they include chipped glass items in the " as is " department ? that wouldn't be right , lol. I'll take dusty lamps from samples tho . I can dust , lol.

Re: WHAT DID YOU BUY FROM VALERIE'S 8-22 MORNING SHOW?

I didn't order anything all day! Valerie's offerings didn't sway me this visit. I'm still packing up and shipping back a number of MG items from CIJ that don't work right.

I really wanted to like the cloches though. They just didn't quite cut it for the price. What I did like about them is that they are three separate pieces, and you will be able to do so much with them, not just leave them as displayed. That probably makes them worth more than if they were one sealed unit, but I just couldn't justify the total price right now.

I have had about the same luck with ""as is"" as regular items. Same 30-day guarantee from QVC. I had to send back one of Valerie's snowmen ""as is"" because the lights didn't work and one other item for the same reason. I shop there a lot. Hope if you decide to get something you will have good luck.

Re: WHAT DID YOU BUY FROM VALERIE'S 8-22 MORNING SHOW?

I didn't order anything yesterday. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I will be looking forward to everyone's reviews when you get your new items.

I wanted the snowman cloche very badly, but, my sensible side kept winning, mainly because of the total cost of $74 after s&h & tax. I bought 4 CIJ items and kept 3, which was more spending than I anticipated, but I was happy to get them.

Another thought I keep having is that I have a few of my grandmother's old plates that I think/hope might look nice as a base for a cloche decorated for Christmas and maybe Fall, too. I have the one in this photo and a couple more with dark green patterns.

Anyway, I did some measuring and browsing, and I think a cloche with a 7" diameter base would look great with my plates, and I happened to find one at Home Decorators that I like, so if it goes on sale, I may get it. I also have a couple of pedestals in mind to maybe use as bases to add a little lift.

I think that my luck with as is items is actually better than my luck with regular newly listed items, especially related to mercury glass.

I feel the same, NO WAY will I spend $70+ for a cloche. Besides, I will enjoy changing it with other things. Just google cloches and you will see tons of ideas on Pinterest!! I LOVE your ideas with those stunning plates! I collect those very plates in different colors! The red would be great for Christmas, Valentines Day..etc! Target has some cloches and they're not pricey. I'm sure I saw some at Joanns..etc.

SHOPR, that plate is beautiful. I'd have that displayed on a plate rack or easel.

My "want" side won yesterday but honestly, not that much tempted me other than the Snowman cloche. I see they're on waitlist, Santa & Snowman, Angel is available.

graceandmercy, How neat that you collect those plates! No good shopping locally for me. But I will keep Target and JoAnn's in mind when I hit the road.

lucymo, I did display the plate last Christmas on an easel with this candle in front and some other things mixed in. I should've taken a picture, because now I can't remember what I did! I also really wanted the cupcake peppermint trees to go with my GB stuff, but they were too $$$ and a bit larger than I wanted.

I have that candle. I understand about needing pictures to remember how I do things. I rack my brain and most times it doesn't work. Thank goodness for Pinterest, sometimes you can see things on there that you have done as well. I'd love to see how you use that plate if you do pictures.

Save on Crafts online has inexpensive cloches, I bought various sizes. I chose bell shapes as I mostly plan to use them at Christmas. Also, Home Goods had some this Spring.
