WHAT A DELIGHT FOR SOMEONE WHO HATES IRONING !!!!

Happened to tune in on Home Cleaning show a few weeks ago and ordered the Rowenta hand steamer.  We were renovating a shore house and I had already set up the new bed linens....without stopping to iron the badly wrinkled new bed skirts.  And, did I say that I hate ironing ?  And, the beds just looked horrible but I wasn't going to take them apart to take off the bed skirts.

That hand steamer worked beautifully, even upside sideways !  It was worth its price.  Yesterday I steamed the curtains and valances.  To do them, I hung them from the shower rod and pulled them taut to get a smooth finish.

This is truly a great product: it's easy to fill; quick to heat up; and, makes  a sound to tell you it's refill time !  It's also very comfortable to hold while steaming and safely sits on a counter.

I don't mind ironing if I'm not in a rush.  Seems like I'm always in a rush though.  I bought a rowenta handheld steamer, but haven't tried it yet.

@jlkzThanks so much for your review.  I don't mind ironing, but I now have so little space in my summer apartment that the ironing is a pain to get out of its storage spot and a nuisance in the livingroom which is now the only place it fits.   Sounds as if a steamer might work well for me.

Nice job. Sounds like it worked out great for you. I also hate ironing. We still have the iron we received when we got married over 41 yrs ago. LOL!!! It still works I don't iron. I told DH if he buys something that needs ironed to have at it because I'm not ironing it. I hardly ever have to iron anything.

I don't mind ironing at all.  I'm still using a Black & Decker that I bought in 1992 .. still going strong.

I have a steamer somewhere around (don't recall the brand) that just didn't work for me.  Besides - I have so many rayon pieces that have to be ironed at low temps .. below steam temp.

Thank you for the review, I hate ironing and try to get out of it any way possible. I have a disability where it's difficult to stand for any length of time so ironing is a chore. I'll check it out, thank you again!

Re: WHAT A DELIGHT FOR SOMEONE WHO HATES IRONING !!!!

A while back I posted asking for recs for a new iron and most recommended Rowenta.  It really changed my attitude about ironing.  It's so much faster now.

@jlkz Is this the steamer you bought?

I've thinking about getting one for my son, a college student, who doesn't like to iron mainly because the laundry room is down four flights and his dorm room is too small for ironing board.

Re: WHAT A DELIGHT FOR SOMEONE WHO HATES IRONING !!!!

I love to iron and wash dishes, two of my favorite things. what I don't like very much is sweeping and mopping but I just bought a new mop that is easy and it's growing on me. But I love the review on the hand steamer for runners and curtains. Thanks for the heads up.

Hate ironing.  Haven't done so since 1968.

Received 2 irons as wedding gifts.  Sold both including the ironing boards.

Anything that needs ironing, I let the steam from the shower remove the wrinkles.  If that does not work, off it goes to the cleaners.  they charge $1 an item to "press only."
