Those two fans way up on the ceiling look ridiculous and ruined the whole look for me.

Re: Very Different Styles

@jubilant

First off, I love love the candle light fixture/chandelier in the second one. It looks like it belongs in an old church and would fit in with my "vampire chic" look beautifully.

Overall, I prefer the first room with a few major changes

1) Take down ceiling fans

2) Remove the mirror over the mantel, don't like it

3)Put the beautiful candle chandelier from #2 in # 1

4)Put floor to ceiling drapes flanking the windows in a flax color to pick up the fireplace stone.

5)I love the big comfy overstuffed sofas but would change out the coffee table, actually that lovely orange tufted ottoman from #2 would look good in # 1, especially if it were an orange velvet....not the orange leather.

6)The mantel needs to be more substantial/chunkier

fun!

I've never been a fan of slipcover furniture but I do like the room it's in.

@jubilant , two beautiful rooms!  On first sight, I like the second one better.  Could not abide no window coverings.  I am with those that said there is too much stuff in both rooms.  Way too many pillows in room 2!

Thanks for posting.

Definitely the first one for me.  No drapes, love the fireplace.  More modern looking which is my preference.

I like both rooms. The first is light without being stark and furniture looks very comfortable. Love the purple chair and pillows in the second room. I like that both rooms have flowers, my favorite decorations.

I like both rooms.  However, I don't care for anything in them. Woman Wink

I cannot do either room, although I could at least start with the first one.

I agree the linen chair covers would always look rumpled and this would bother me.

I am into non-cluttered more minimalist looks for decor... both rooms have too much clutter for my taste on a daily basis.

i agree.  Sometimes it's not the clutter, but the reason for the clutter.  There are rooms where I ask myself: Are all these items truly the person's prized possessions or is this just stuff to fill a space or match a pillow?

@jubilant   I like both rooms very much.  Just not crazy about the two tiny black fans on the ceiling of room one.  Thanks for sharing 😃
