Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

Bought last year - just a word to the wise......these look cheap cheap in person. The fake snow is the one ordered - I was embarrassed to show in my home.  Lighted in dark room they are okay - daylight shows the cheap material used and not many lights per 'tree'.  Q has them grouped all around so it does look impressive.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

@fthunt  I wondered about that.  They did a close up and I though it looked pretty sparse and wondered how they were "in person".

Maybe you can use them outside on a porch for the holidays?

I saw some similar ones at Home Goods and thought if you have lots of them it would look nice, but then I would have to spend a lot of $$ to get a grouping and more than the cost, I didn't want to have to store them all year.

@fthunt   Thank you for your description.  I truly appreciate all who give an in person eye view of a product.  We all know that items are staged on the sets so that the consumer will buy.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

Thanks for the heads up. I like the look but wondered about quality. Martha Stewart offered a similar product through Pottery Barn a few years ago. I should've jumped on one then.

Agree.  The brown looks black even in bright light.  After arranging the branches, the snow covered faced down instead of up where snow would fall.

The lights don't reach the end of the branches.  There are 3 inches of toothpick thin branch sticking out beyond the lights, so they are pretty much centered in the middle of the tree.

The trunk and branches were obviously covered in a cheap looking tape.

I've never seen a birch in the U.S. with dark brown or black bark, so I bought it just to be a tree; however, the bark is darker than any I have seen.

Would have paid a higher price for a realistic tree.

It does look nicer at night.  From outside looking in a window, it looks very nice.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

I bought the 6 ft in white. I like it.

It doesn't look "real" but it's not bad even in the day IMHO

I did see similar in the home dec stores for less after I bought mine.

Sill I'm happy with mine.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

I got the 3’ birch this year and also got Martha’s white trees this year. I had not opened the boxes yet so went and got them after reading this thread.

Upon opening the 3’ birch my first impression was that it looked very nice. I didn’t fluff the branches and just put it in the stand and plugged it in. It twinkles nicely and is the bright white light.

I opened the box for the 4’ Martha tree. It look awhile to get the stand out. It is packed very well and the base is quite weighty. This is good. This one is flocked and a few little pieces came off pulling it out if the bag. No big deal. Again, I didn’t do anything with the branches and just put it in the stand and plugged it in. The twinkle is nice on this one as well. The light is softer and more like an incandescent white whereas Valerie’s is the bright cool LED white. Martha’s is also LED but the white is softer.

I like them both. I don’t know that I will display them together because of the difference in color of white. I solved this by ordering more in each style and will do two groupings. I plan to use both versions inside.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

I did hear Valerie say on a presentation that only the white version is birch.

@fthunt Thanks for the post.  I almost ordered one several times today.  Something must have told me NO.

Re: Valerie's Lighted Birch Tree

I bought 2 of the 3' white last year and I have to agree they are cheaply made. They do look pretty at night on the mantle with her white deer.

I think the "clearance price" is te same price I paid last year. I think they were a TSV.

I do like how they twinkle.
