Re: VPH S/3 Pretty In Plaid Trees

However, I love VPH & when she gets it right, it is worth it to me. You are 100% correct about the quality control. Marsha, I could not agree with you more; the 2 tree boxes were inside this gargantuous box with no filler to keep the boxes from banging around in that huge box. I too have had shipping issues with other vendors as well. JPC & SL, I' ll report back when I get a track rcord. I think you are on to something about the battery life being affected staying on constant as opposed to action.

TY! I canceled my order for a couple of reasons...

I went in our basement and took a look at all the trees we have that I have ordered over the past couple of years. I really needed the reminder of HOW many and the variety we have. Additionally, I need to stay away from anymore B/O 'stuff'...it's just getting silly. I don't need everything to light up...lol.

At least 50% of B/O decor I'll be using I won't even be putting batteries in since they look beautiful without being lit. With a few of them, they just eat up the batteries like crazy and others look fine unlit.

Lastly, I am trying to avoid products that will have a higher risk of my having to return them due to poor quality. So instead, I bought 2 of VPH fruit wreaths and her red hurricane (H200922) instead Smile

Re: VPH S/3 Pretty In Plaid Trees

I am so glad I didn't order these after reading these reviews. I put out my valerie MG pedestals and 3 of them are blinking which tells me the bulbs are going ( I put new batteries in them). I bought a few sets of these last year and if I knew they would only last one season lit, I would have never had ordered them. No more Mercury Glass lit items for me anymore.

I've never lit my silver set...they look wonderful unlit and I have used them since I bought them in various vignettes Smile

As for the lack of quality of several of VPH items, I can relate...

{#emotions_dlg.angry} SHEESH....ONCE AGAIN!

I think QVC should just remove the "Q" (stands for quality) from it's name.

I've only opened the trees, so far. None of them are broken, & they all sit evenly. On to the battery compartments....

You know how there is a spring on one end of the battery compartment, & the other side is plain? Well, one of the sections has TWO springs- one on both ends. Then one of the other sections has NO spring at all, so the battery just falls out. That's a new one...haven't experienced that before.

The next tree was fine. I lit it & absolutely love it...color is beautiful in the multi, & it looks very warm.

I turned over the third tree, & the entire round part of the battery section on the bottom fell out. It wasn't glued properly.

Sad part is that I would keep these in a heartbeat. I guess I'd have to order 3 sets of everything, hoping for one "normal" set. When they come back in stock, they'll probably be all the sad sets that everyone had to return. The Q's "quality" control won't check them & they'll resend them.

Valerie, your name is on the line here, & I would think you'd be concerned. Almost every Christmas item I've received has been defective.

Hi goldenretriever,

So sorry you got bad quality trees! May I suggest posting your experience on VPH's FB page? I truly believe if more folks who receive poor quality items, the more this issue will be taken seriously...kinda like the 'tipping point' of change...hopefully for the better.

It's a shame you were disappointed again. As you know, oh, how I can relate!!! Smiley Sad

Smile Hi Susan

I've never been a Facebook member (don't want to be). Otherwise, I would.

Re: VPH S/3 Pretty In Plaid Trees

Okay- the presents.

First of all, if you like items that are done perfectly, & properly, these may drive you crazy.

The glitter "ribbon" that wraps around the packages is pretty much off in every way. It's REALLY crooked in spots, there are big globs of glue, there are spots that are bald, etc.

The largest box is red in color, & lit up it's bright & very pretty. The middle box is green- not as bright, but still okay. The smallest blue present is just plain dark. I can barely tell that it's lit at all.

I'm going to leave them on my hearth tonight so I can see what they look like when it's dark.

The sad part is the concept of both the trees & presents is great. But the execution is extremely poor. They're just being slapped together. The factory must give the people a 2 minute time frame to complete each item from start to finish. And they make them work in the dark. Wink

Re: VPH S/3 Pretty In Plaid Trees

Bummer goldenretriever about the trees and presents. I don't know why the quality has been going down on Valerie's items as it must be there is no QA being done on these items from the China factory to the shipping docks and so the workmanship suffers probably due to meeting order deadlines. QVC really needs to do something about this as does Valerie.

I have 2 sets in the gold. They look pretty in the daylight I do agree and I will keep them out. I really like the way they look at night all light up. One of the pedestals that was blinking finally died, it doesn't work anymore. My DH said I should put the micro lights I recently received in to the pedestal. I laughed so hard but he has a point.
