As I said a previous post, RETURN IT! I wish I had returned mine when it was under 2 weeks old! The noise in my Samsung frig drives me crazy! I just don't understand why the OP just doesn't haul that thing away? Why go through the aggravation of repairmen, new parts, just RETURN IT!

Years ago refrigerators lasted over 20 years.

I swear by Viking built in refrigerators which are made in the USA.

I have yet to encounter any problems with either of them.

I also have a Maytag side by side I recently placed in my heated garage, and love it.

Today many of them unfortunately are throw away items.

If they last at least 10 years with no issues I would think that would be very lucky.

Many refrigerators are imported, or have imported parts from many different countries abroad.

They certainly are not made the same as in the past, when large appliances had a longer life, and not many issues arose.

12 days later!!! Why oh why does such a easy thing need to be stressful??!!!! Working with store manager/regional manager for resolution biggest problem the store only offers GE ($475 more), Frigidaire ($600 more & would need to be ordered), Whirlpool ($795 more) .....of course no guarantee won't make loud noises. On the flip side -- Samsung tech was out again Friday & he adjusted the fan speed....so far only the usual noises (ice maker, compressor startup) and it's not so loud...actually tolerable BUT I don't know what to do!! And my air conditioning decided to die this weekend (when it was 87 degrees) & guy here installing new unit... Goodness when it rains it pours, lately on me!!!

Me too. I'm now on a 3rd distress happening. It'll all eventually be tended to, but when it's not your choice for these events, it's hair pulling time. ${#emotions_dlg.w00t}$ I guess we're the only members of this exclusive club.

I'm thinking so!!! Gotta get better soon....if I hear one more hum or popping noise I'm going to scream!!!! (And to think I raised to rowdy hockey playing boys & worked in the prison system -- now if that didn't drive me crazy w/noise how can one fridge put me over the "edge"!!!!
