Re: Update/outcome with Samsung Fridge

I have the Consumer Reports 2015 buying Guide right in front of me and for a 3 door French door bottom freezer Samsung is #1, then GE, Then LG. (I had an LG and the Ice Maker broke in a year). I sold that thing, I hated it. I love my Samsung, call Samsung Customer Service.

I was just going to say for my own personal use, my fridge is Samsung and we love it. No problems. Sorry for your troubles.

GE has exited the appliance business, that division has been sold to Electrolux. No idea what the quality of this brand will be going forward.

Re: Update/outcome with Samsung Fridge

GE appliances aren't what they used to be...

As for the 'manager' the other option should have been a flat return! Then you could go elsewhere and purchase something else.

I do wonder though, as most newer refrigerators are noisy more noisy than most of us are used to.

Does a local TV station have a consumer advocacy reporter? A segment producer might give your problem local profile.

Re: Update/outcome with Samsung Fridge

If this is new, what does the lack of an extended warranty have to do with it? I'd go above this guy's head.

I had a Maytag that was making all kinds of noises, but it was 7 years old. The dealer said the compressor was going. I figured I'd catch it when it went, missed by 12 hours overnight, and had to throw out a bunch of food. I actually bought the same model over again, because I liked the configuration. Frankly, I don't have much faith in any appliance brand anymore.

Re: Update/outcome with Samsung Fridge

You did the right thing to call your CC company, they will start an investigation and help you. Stick to your rights as a consumer. The frig should not be making those noises. Seems like a defect. They need to replace it for you for free.

Re: Update/outcome with Samsung Fridge

Thanks homedecor for sharing your experience. I will be looking for a new fridge soon so I'm reading this with a lot of interest.

So sorry for your troubles with this machine. I'm hoping Samsung will step up and give you a new one!

Sorry, but I never would have gone to a place named Famous Tate's in the first place. Never heard of it. But hang in there, I'd be fighting for it too!
