Here's a companion post to the modern Brooklyn kitchen I posted the other day, just for the fun of the contrast. One thing they DO share-- both are light and airy.
These are the surrounding mountains, ahhhh. This house is in a little community near to the lovely resort of Park City.
The house has the sort of "lodge-y", mountain getaway feeling you'd expect. In the great room, I really like the stunning wood trusses, beams, stone fireplace, clean round mirror.
The twin leather stools are beautifully weathered, like a pair of favored boots. Love the unexpected delicacy of the sepia botanical prints, and that fab wood chair. (It's modern, but looks like a lot of the chairs in my book on Celtic design.)
But finally, here's the kitchen. My all-time favorite parts are those stunning, large, iron lantern pendants, oh, my goodness! Beautiful in the space, and wonderful mixing of the traditional, and more modern.
That striking hood is plaster and solid, reclaimed wood. Pretty carpet runner and stove.
The stacked windows let in views and light.
I'd love to have counter tops as "cleared off" as these are, with just a few, choice kitchen accessories!
Eating area looking toward the sitting room. The punctuation of the occasional dark wood tone, like the chairs, against all the light wood, is effective, I think. Again, that curving spindled shape is reminiscent of very old Celtic chairs in Scotland, Ireland and Wales...
The simplicity of old glass, and new stacked brass keepsake boxes...
This IS supposed to be about the kitchen, but have to give a glimpse of the children's bedroom, built as sturdy as a ship's hold. How the childhood me would have loved fancy bunk beds like these beauties!

I love the Utah house much more than the Brooklyn house 😊

I just can't imagine living now such a gorgeous place in that beautiful home. That kitchen is my dream kitchen.

This is really nice....maybe a little too stark white but I could easily live or vacation there.
Again a kitchen with uncomfortable stools..maybe the people here are the only ones that want a comfortable seat in their beautiful kitchen

The place has potential and the wood accents are appealing... but at the end of the day, just another too white, too modern series of spaces with too much contemporary, neutral furniture...

Like everything except for the white EVERYWHERE---need some color not bright and gaudy just not as sterile as all white-----would use paint and accents and diferent cabinet colors--but that would be easy to fix

Me too! I'd have a migraine headache all the time from the glare from the windows in the kitchen.
We love bar stools better because we don't sit at the counter for long periods, they are easier to slide on and off to do something and get up and back to the counter often, and they aren't in the way.
For us stools work far better!
I love the table and chairs though!

I like the Utah kitchen much more than the one in Brooklyn.
