Re: Two areas that catch my eye when looking at interiors.

I'm addicted to Pinterest.  It's like having the whole world at my finger tips.  I have boards for everything, including boards for my fantasy homes.  Mud rooms....no, I had the real thing in our former home and all I can see is the mess that kids and hubby and the dog made of it.  But, as a reader, I do like those unexpected reading nooks and the window seats that you see in designer homes.

I can't tell you how much help Pinterest has been for my mom and deciding how she wants the house. It's so easy to visualize it with a picture rather then going to a builder and not be sure what you want. Makes it a lot less stressful because it will be harder to make a mistake.

Probably the kitchen and laundry room.....I like pretty but want ideas for functionality.

I was so excited when we got the countertop for folding in the laundry room off the kitchen.......Everyone that sees it says how cute the room is....

I actually enjoy doing laundry now...LOL

Its all I did, 3-4 years ago when we were building our cottage (that we now live in), was go through all the home decorating magazines. I tore out tons of pages of ideas and made a booklet. I just recently found that booklet and flipped through those idea photos. Some things I copied and love but most of the photos are so dated already I ended up just tossing them. Lol.

As I look through home plans, I linger over mud/laundry rooms and fireplaces.  I've discovered I like kitchen sinks placed under a window looking out to the yard, just like our farmhouse had.

Color catches my eye. This afternoon we were looking at model homes at a new development and I can still tell you exactly what colors each home featured.

My favorite had a medium tone grey cabinets on top and white on the bottom and island then a navy blue guartz countertops. The DR & LR were decorated with pale grey wood floors , white walls and all various shades of blues in furniture and art work and window treatments and rugs. It was so pretty. The kitchen backsplash was a herringbone pattern grey tile.

I've heard you mention several times about looking at model homes. Are you considering moving? Choosing another city or in the same area?

I ask because I have a friend that looks at open houses and model homes just for fun. She and I used to do it together a lot in years past, and she still does it frequently. It is kind of fun, to get ideas and dream!
