Re: Two Story Living Space...

[ Edited ]

The room is very lovely and I love the window area and windowseat...However, as much as I love a light and airy look, this is too sterile for my taste, so I would add some color and also change the furnishings for a more cozier look.

What I don't quite understand is that upper level with the bookshelves...It looks quite narrow and I would be worried about falling over the railing while browsing along that area and looking for a book...lol

Re: Two Story Living Space...

I don’t like this room very much. Again, too much white for me. Not really loving any of the furnishings or accessories. I don’t like the upholstered seating corners on both sides of the fireplace. The second story looks too narrow to be truly functional. The view outside the window is nice.

Re: Two Story Living Space...

The bones of the room are good, and I always love "under-dressed" windows like those, that let maximum light flood in.  Pretty!

I don't mind the neutral white envelope at all.  I think I'd relax the room by having less stiff looking furniture.  Would have to banish those padded, tufted alcoves with sconces-- to me, they are the worst feature, seem fussy, and increase the "contrived" feeling.

Loft library is great use of space.

I love this room. I would like it even better if they filled those shelves with books and made a library out of it. I really like the large windows, too.

How interesting to place a gallery wall there.  I had not seen that before and love how it breaks up what would otherwise, in my opinion, be a too cavernous wall.  The alcoves are another matter (Ugh)  and I do not care for most of the furniture.

Re: Two Story Living Space...

A dream room for me except for the ugly mirror and the ugly silver quilting in the nooks.

I think I'd make the nooks into shelving, because I have the books to fill them.  I just love the room and would put a small chair on the balcony and read up there.

Like the architecture - but too much white. Lovely area

Re: Two Story Living Space...

Gee, I love white rooms however this one is overdone due to the white upholstery everywhere and the padded walls on either side of the fireplace.

The wood flooring is very pretty.  lol...  and I used to have a fireplace exactly like the one pictured.  It's a beauty!
