#1 for sure! The color against the stone is breathtaking & perfect for a Fall-scape! Drama, but in a good way!

My thoughts as well @kindred cats. I like aspects of both and would be hard pressed to pick one over the other. I too prefer the fall season.

I find them both wonderful, Among other elements, I do like the more enclosed nature of the first and yet the slate floor of the second is just beautiful. Either would be a winner in my eyes. Interesting that the two pictures were clearly shot at different points in the season.The trees are showing their fall colors in the first, but are just beginning to turn in the second.

Both settings have their charm.  But my pick is definitely #2.

The fireplace in #1 is overwhelming, and a tad too Flintstones inspired.
