Re: Tropical Look for a Winter's Day...

That's big fat NO for me. Nothing tropical about it except those ugly banana leaves. LOL!!!

I love the beachy feel of it.  I even like the green and the banana leaves!  LOL

It reminds me of staying at a Sandlas resort in the Bahamas, oh to be there now.....

@LindaSal  I believe the designer is one who frequently works in the Bahamas and probably has a pied a terre there...

I could do without the large banana leaves on the mantel but otherwise, find this room sort of refreshing, as I gaze out onto yet another dreary day... I don't love everthing about it, to be sure, but I do like it...

@mspatmac  I agree!  @stevieb The plant is probably the only thing that I do like.

Your big fat 'no' is duly noted, but for some folks the coral and green color scheme, the rattan pieces, colorful throw, and pieces of coral scattered throughout the room might tend to impart an overall tropical vibe... Albeit they're hard to see, but most of the small pieces of framed art are also of tropical scenes... Smiley Wink

Re: Tropical Look for a Winter's Day...

There are very few shades of green that I like, and this is definitely not one of them.
