"We think that the old-school, Pottery Barn vibe, which was oh-so-popular in the 1990s, will be making a strong comeback," Alessandra Wood, the vice president of style at Modsy, told Insider.
"People are spending a lot more time at home and looking to add layers of functional comfort to their space," Wood added.
For instance, if you had a formal living room for years, you might be trying to think of ways to make it a more inviting and functional space.
"Overstuffed furniture, softer curves, and traditional styles that you can count on always looking the same provide comfort and support for many during these unprecedented times," Wood said.

Oh good: My traditional, non-farmhouse style home is coming back into style, whatever that means.
My home has always been "my style"-carefully and uniquely curated over many years.

This room is a lovely, comforting space to kick back & read. I love the beautiful windows for the natural light. Not a fan of the rug nor open shelving though.
Thank you for sharing.

Lovely room but why put a sofa in front of the fireplace? LOL

I love this. I agree with @pinkcrystal though, that it doesn't make sense to have the sofa back to the fireplace.
I didn't know Pottery Barn ever went out of style.

Looks like there is about 8 feet between the fireplace and the back of the sofa. Love the bird pictures, though.

This room is lovely but I would leave the rug and replace the furniture to suit my taste. Desing is personal and trends come and go. I say do what you love and are comfortable and happy with!!!!

This room strikes me as a waste of a lovely, light-filled space. I'd use contrasting paint to highlight the beautiful arched bookshelves and the fireplace. Without it, they dissolve into bland nothingness. And what's the point of having a fireplace if you're going to hide it behing the back of a sofa? The two brown chairs look comfortable but, as placed, they look like they belong in an airport lounge, especially without a table and reading lamp between them. Also not fond of the birds staring at each other over the blah fireplace.
