To me, it looks like that's the only space to sit at that island. I like the yellow stool; it brings out the gold in the picture frame, too.

Put me down as a bland fan ...  I would replace the yellow chair with a black or tan damask cushioned chair.  I DO like that new shade (I call it Pottery Barn) blue they are using on some kitchen cabinets on HGTV and other magazines ...  with white quartz counter tops ...  if only I had the $$ and spaces to create all the decor styles I so love ...  I also love that new dark, dark gray or black flat paint they are using with brigh5 white crown molding ...  I would use that in a dining room with black background wallpaper with small white and green flowers ...  D R E A M.  O N !!

I don't like the stool or the chandelier, but otherwise a nice kitchen, and yes it could use a little color, but the stool missed the mark.

It's a very nice kitchen but needs a bit of color.  I don't care for the bar stool. I'm also not really a fan of the artwork or the light fixture.

I would have selected an accent color for accessories scattered throughout.  I also would have added a coordinating colored valance or cornice over the lower windows.

I like this kitchen.  I don't mind the color of the stool, but it seems kind of big.

I like the kitchen, but oh my goodness, that bar stool needs to go!

I think a brighter picture and a larger plant on the counter would help.  I like it though, especially the windows.   I would not have any chairs at the island, especially that one.

I like the kitchen, but not a fan of the yellow chair.

The Stool looks out of place in the kitchen.  As for the rest of it, I don't love the kitchen but I could work with it.
