Top 5 must-haves in a comfortable guest room?

It's been a long time since I've had a spare room to designate as an official "guest room" in my home and I'm taking great pains to make it as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

From the guest's perspective, what are the top five things to ensure a comfortable stay when visiting someone's home?

Clean crisp sheets, a bedside table and clock, a bathroom free of clutter and personal items, some bottled water, a waste basket.

1. Freshly cleaned linens and blanket

2. Alarm clock

3. Freshly cleaned bathroom towels of every size (washcloth, hand towels, and bath towel)

4. Magazine rack for a corner of the room

5. Magazines that fit the interest of the guest staying in the room to place into the magazine rack

@house_cat,

I bet you are such a thoughtful and welcoming host!

Here's my top 5-

1-Kleenex (tissue)

2-trashcan

3- bedding-lovely comfortable sheets with at least 2 pillows per person (one for the knees lol!) and a nice comfortable comforter, and along with bedding, a nice reading lamp close to the bed.

4-closet with hangars

5-and here is something I've never seen til I recently stayed with my son and dil-

They had a phone charger right near the bed which was so nice. Though I had one, I could use mine upstairs instead of switching it out.

(and also maybe a multiple electric plug thing so people can plug in their

heating pad! or whatever.)

Now, I'll be over in a little while lol!

One thing nobody mentioned is a TV.  I'm often awake very early or late and must have my TV, to which I often fall asleep.  It doesn't have to be huge, I think my bedroom TV is about 24".

Agree with many of the responses .

Will add ,  no little knick knacks cluttering dresser tops or tables .

Be sensitive  to guests  who have allergies to pets. The guest room should be pet free - no cat fur dust bunnies  on the bed linens and no dog hair .

Since many people use CPAP machines nowadays, a sturdy solid surface with an easy to reach outlet would be very handy.  And distilled water if they need it.

Also, a luggage rack. I usually live out of my suitcase except for things that are better hanging on a hanger, so they'd also need hanging space.

Near the bed table top space to place phone, eyeglasses, drinking water, watch, etc.

An easy to reach bedside lamp, with a lower wattage so it doesn't glare if you need to turn it on during the night.

Night lights to help navigate your guests unfamiliar with your home in the dark.

A small vase of fresh flowers is always a nice touch, too.

I won't be able to keep it at 5.

Clean bed linens

Extra pillows and blanket

Nightstand or table with 100 watt lamp for reading.

Alarm clock

Kleenex

Trashcan

Ample room to hang clothes with hangers.

Towels and soap with dish if they don't have a private bathroom.

Extras:

Hairdryer

Reading material if you know what they are interested in.

I'd love to have a TV set, but that would be asking too much.

Mine is the bare minimum.  I don't want it too comfortable because they may not want to leave.
