Time to decorate for spring....

It's 32, it's dark/snowing/sleeting/hailing and windy, no way to start off April.  But, I can't wait any longer, I'm going to break out the spring items.  Since Q gave us those Easy Pays, I bought VPH wreath and they had an ingenious expandable pole to hang wreaths.  I love that idea!  I can can use it for Christmas too.  Since we moved into this condo, I haven't had wreaths because I didn't want to hang it on the door.  Now I can put my wreath anywhere I want in the livingroom or the family room.  I bought VPH goblets (with flamess candles) in silver and I'll put those on my sideboard with huge arrangement of spring flowers and my mother's little ceramic bunnies that she always put out on Easter.  I have a pink floral slipcover that I put on my livingroom chair in the spring and an assortment of pink, white and celadon pillows for the couch.  I two sets of VPH spheres that I'll put in our livingroom window and over in the dining room window.  I do a big Easter basket every year and that will go in the middle of the coffee table.....and then....I'll be done.  It might not feel like spring but it will look like spring in this house.  Next weekend, I'll start on our bedroom.

Re: Time to decorate for spring....

It's sunny and 75* here on my deck, but believe it or not, your weather sounds so cozy and romantic!

If you're safe and warm inside, I'd open all the drapes/blinds and enjoy the winter show outside.

Your decorations sound nice, too.  I have this place set up all year with pastels.  Even the Christmas tree is off white (artificial) and a smaller antiqued silver one that is decorated year round.  I need to get out my Easter decorations!

Re: Time to decorate for spring....

It's always hard for me to decorate when the weather is unseasonable like putting out Christmas decorations when it's 80º F. outside or bringing out the Easter bunnies when it's cold and rainy.  Good on you for ignoring the weather and making the interior of your home reflect spring in spite of Mother Nature's opinion!

I put out Easter decorations last week.  It's fun to see the bunnies here and there throughout the house.  I also changed out my linens to the lighter, brighter ones that I use during warmer months, but I kept my flannel nightwear and fuzzy throws handy for those cold nights that are still popping up now and again.

@chrystaltree

enjoy all your wonderful Easter items! I think it's a fun time (sorry weather is dreary) but living in FL I still can't get used to Christmas with 80 degrees!

If it it makes you feel good - "hop" to it! 🐰🐇🐇🙂🙂🙂

@chrystaltree ~ Sounds nice!  I'm the type of person who decorates way early for everything.  It takes so much time I want to be able to enjoy it for awhile.  I spent the afternoon working outside laying out mulch and cleaning up here and there.  Now they say we are going to have a wintry mix later in the week.  Welcome to Springtime in Chicagoland!!!
