Re: Time Traveling Back to the 60s, 70s and 80s

The Sixties' photo won't upload for me either.   Assuming it's my crazy computer.

At some point in my childhood, my parents got midcentury modern furniture, very nice stuff--  curving, assymetric sofas, organic shapes, ultra contemporary chairs, blond wood and glass occasional tables, etc.  They loved it, and I loved it!  So began my affinity for that period, even though I'm more of a "cottage" person....

There are few periods I can't find something to like about!  Well, maybe am not that thrilled with Eighties-Nineties "frou frou", but even some of those looks, if somewhat restrained, can be good. And I hear chintz is making a comeback....

I love the 1960's LR and would take it in my living room today.  The other two....NO THANKS!

Love the 60’, can’t see photo from ‘70s (maybe I don’t remember) and love the kittys in the ‘80s.

Re: Time Traveling Back to the 60s, 70s and 80s

For Christmas 1964, my parents bought a new living room suit, very close in style to what is pictured, but in a deep chocolate brown.   The chair bit the dust about 20 years ago, but that couch is still in Mom’s living room and is in good condition, no wear and tear damage, no throw cover on it.  In the 80’s, Dad added a second couch to their living room, but Mom hated it, so it only lasted about 4 years before they gave it away.

I’ve been married 45 years, and am on couch #5.   I’ve always bought quality lines of furniture, and my couches came from the same local store where Dad bought their couch.   Just another example of how things are not made to last.
