Too much focus on the ceiling and not enough on the furnishings.  For some reason, it all seems out of balance.

Beams weren't a bad idea but I think they over-did it.  It's strange to see them branching out like that.

I love the beams and the window.

I like them -  I can't imagine they're transferable into many dining rooms though.  That's a big room and a big room that's not all that open concept.

My Florida condo is the first space I've ever lived in that has extra high ceilings.  I find it harder to decorate so that every sound in the room doesn't fly into that nether region where in my case the expanse is too open to do a ceiling treatment other than to hang a chandelier which just looks lost in space..  I feel sort of diminished when I sit at my dining room table.

Re: Thick Beams DR

First impression:  Monastery.

Furniture gives me that feeling, too.

I get the feeling I'd need to wear a long dark robe to dinner.

Cold, like going too far back in time.

It's interesting, though.

Although, wouldn't want a room like this in my house, I give it an A.

A lovely room taken down 10 notches by white, slip-covered chairs that cry out for leather or fabric.

A wonderful space. Not sold on the furniture. Has potential. Great window.

The beams are too overwhelming for the space IMO. I like the window, table, & corner cabinet. The rest is a no from me.
