Tuesday I cleaned out my old purses - took 24 to the thrift store and threw some in the trash. Also threw away some old shoes.  Today I went through my jewelry armoire and did the same - threw away a wastebasket full of old broken things not worth repairing - old out of style pieces that were trendy when purchased (all costume) and reorganized what is remaining. What a good feeling to get everything nice and tidy. My closet is looking amazing.I frequently go through my clothing and purge but I have been ignoring these other items. Now I just have to go through my shelf in the closet and it is really going to get a through cleaning out.I'll clean out the drawers in my vanity when we are ready to start painting it. It's good to have a plan.

It is a good feeling isn't it.  I've been going through our closets and drawers getting rid of things.  It's amazing how many things I've found that we no longer use - some things I've donated and some I've thrown out.

It sounds like you have a good plan.  Happy painting.  Smiley Happy

24 purses!  What a great job you did.  I love the feeling of having things organized and it's so much easier to keep things neat once the initial purge is done.

151949.....Sounds like a good plan !  I need to get started also and stop procrastinating.

I hold on to things too long.

While I was waiting 16 min for eggs to hard boil I cleaned out a drawer in the kitchen where I keep things like saran wrap and baggies etc. Now I am starting to challenge myself to what I can do next. Less boredom, things get thrown out and organized -- it's all good.

Yesterday was the first day in two weeks I didn't have a major project around the house to work on and I was actually bored to death!

WOW, woman on a mission! Good for you. May I ask, is the thrift shop a place where you donated the items, or is it a resale shop where you might recoup a little bit?

You are inspiring me...and others, too, I'm sure. Thanks.

Next will be my closet shelf - it has a lot of heavy boxes on it so DH will have to help me. Generally he is a procrastinator so it may be a while.

Great job on the purse purge!

I used to have about a dozen purses, most were expensive (to me) and good brands. Several years ago, I decided that between what was just out of style, tattered looking, and never used, that I live a lifestyle that only necessitates owning four or five handbags MAX.

I really didn't have a hard time letting go, and did it again the next year. I'm down to two 'winter' and two 'summer' and one that is neutral enough for either.

Gotta get that way about dishes!
