Re: The clocks have all been changed ...

It seems like I just did this, and now I'm doing it again already.

I have a wall clock, the microwave and the one on the stove.

Re: The clocks have all been changed ...

UGH. I do this when I get up in the morning. Microwave, oven, kitchen wall clock. Grandfather clock in the entry. Wall clock in sunroom. Then 4 other clocks (wall, bedside). And my watch.

Luckily computer, cable box, and phone change automatically.

Oh, I've got to check whether or not my car changes automatically. I think it does.

What a pain.

I love clocks! They add such beauty (and function to a home).

We have a clock in the bedroom, an antique clock (well over 100 years old) that belonged to my great uncle's family in my son's bedroom on the wall, a beautiful oak wall clock in the living room, a miniature grandfather type clock in the dining room, a vintage clock my mother gave my when I first moved away, one on the stove, one on the microwave, another oak wall clock in the family room, the land line phone system (which doesn't reset itself), my car and four wrist watches.

Only takes about 15 minuted to reset every one of them!

@Mominohio

Do you ever take your antique clocks in to be cleaned and serviced?

I have my parents' Golden Hour clock:

It was not running properly, so I took it in for repair. I called the guy the other day to see how it was doing, and he told me it was dirty inside and was gunking up the works. After cleaning it, he said the motor needed to be replaced.

They are hard to come by so now I have to wait until he finds one.

Clocks need to be serviced and cleaned every few years. I wish I would have taken the GH in a long time ago!

We have 8 - not counting watches and the car. We each have an alarm clock on our bedside stand, one in the master bathroom on the wall, so I don't dilly dally in the tub and make myself late , one in living room , one in kitchen , one in the den , one in guest room and one in the hall that my DH was given as a retirement gift. It has a plaque on it thanking him for service to his professional organization, where he served as treasurer for about 20 years.

clock on the Bose

2 very small Waterford crystal table clocks

hmm.... my watches. I have.....let's just say, several, LOL

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

We have always had a 'clock man', like some people have a plumber or a carpenter they rely on throughout the years.

It is expensive to maintain them, and to fix them, but I really cherish several of my clocks, as they were either handed down or gifts from special people.

Hope the find parts for yours very soon!

I'll be investing a bit of time later on this afternoon resetting a few of my battery operated timer items, lol.

Re: The clocks have all been changed ...

I really dislike this time change.  I wish it was DST all year long.  So much nicer to have more daylight in the evening.
