I was the 1956 daybed instead of real bed year. My Aunt had a daybed and I thought it was fantastic...of course because we didn't have one.

My favorite part of mine (1959) is the faux Victorian pitcher and washbowl filled with faux blue flowers.

Plastic window cornices! My mom had them in her bedroom and in the living room. Gold and white scroll. Uggh they are immortalized in pictures😉

When I was probably 4-6 years old, my mom had chintz curtains in her bedroom with big pink cabbage roses on them, and a white chenille bedspread with fringe. I hated those curtains.

Even after mom took them down, she gave the curtains to my grandmother---so I still saw those big pink flowers all the time. When my grandmother tired of them in her bedroom, the curtains were hung in the small upstairs room I slept in when I stayed with her! I finally told my grandmother I hated those curtains, so she moved them to the other upstairs bedroom. That particular print still haunts me.
