Re: The UPS Man just told my husband that I needed help!!

Your husband handled it, let it go. I wouldn't complain to UPS. No harm was done. There's no point, he'll just say that you misunderstood his attempt at humor. My guess would be that he's going through tough time financially or his wife had or has spending problems. I had the same UPS guy for about 6 years. He lives in town, so we saw each other out and about frequently. He used to joke about my packages. He was obviously kidding and he'd often follow up with something "don't stop shopping, it's job security for me!"

When I received a large amount of packages, I said something to the guy, and then said it keeps you working, and he agreed. Your hubby was right!

Our postman appears to be tired of me, too!

Funny thing, though... probably lots more on-line shopping going on these days... now Amazon has a "grocery basket" delivery system! The delivery services are strained. But hey! Its their job and the companies will have to adjust.

Re: The UPS Man just told my husband that I needed help!!

Our mailman and UPS guy have been on this route several years, so we know them well. They enjoy delivering to my house, and with 3 females here who prefer online ordering, one or the other is delivering packages almost every day. The mailman has made comments to my husband, such as "she must be Christmas shopping already", which is usually the truth---he knows I hate shopping in stores.

Your husband told him right. He needs to deliver and mind his own business. Some people now a days think it's ok to open their mouths and let whatever they want to, fly. Rude and uncalled for and not well received at all.

Re: The UPS Man just told my husband that I needed help!!

The UPS man should have keep his opinion to himself, but I would not complain to management unless something like that happens again.

My husband & I run a small business with a lot of UPS deliveries of heavy boxes. When we were at our previous location, the first day there the UPS driver came to deliver boxes and he complained about the amount of boxes and the weight. Then he asked if it was,
"going to be like that every day." He did not like our answer when we said "Yes." He eventually went on some sort of medical leave and then retired, I think primarily due to us. It is a tough job I am sure, but they should not complain about it to their customers. That is very unprofessional.

We had the nicest UPS man where we used to live. One day he was delivering my packages and I said to him ""you're probably tired of this"". He said ""job security"". Where I live now I find the UPS drivers grumpy but have never complained. Your husband handled it perfectly.

OMG!!!! The nerve.....

I would be hard pressed not to make a complaint. The downside of that would be that he could retaliate by not making deliveries as scheduled, not putting the deliveries on your porch etc. It's not worth the hassle, but Ohhhhhhhhh boy!! Would I be ticked.

One of the drivers we have- is in his 20's. He never smiles, acts as though he is angry to be at work , and just has a bitter and annoyed expression on his face. I just smile and thank him and tell him to have a nice day. This seems to annoy him , even more. He either just snarks out a dry "yeah." or says nothing and gives me a hateful look. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}{#emotions_dlg.blush}

In the beginning, I thought maybe he was going thru something unpleasant. It has been four years now, so maybe not.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Yes, it is not always easy to deal with his attitude but he must live one miserable life to be such a snot . I figure my kindness to him -will come back to me.
